WHS and Training Compliance Solutions Pty Ltd Brisbane has been providing services to organisations that deal with young people for a long time. In our program, onsite YMHFA training provides a great deal of help in enhancing help-giving and turning a stressful work environment into a happy one.

As one of the best in the field, we understand what each company needs and cater to them individually. There are low and affordable rates, and you can schedule the course based on your flexibility. We stress the importance of youth mental health first aid training , so we can help and guide young people struggling through these tough times.

Regardless of one's age and experience, mental health is a critical issue. Whether short-term or long-term, the consequences of mental illness have a significant impact on young people's well-being, functioning, and development. These issues can result from lower education outcomes, unemployment, poor social participation, and substance abuse. Young adults are also considered to be more at risk for self-harm and suicide because of this problem.

Deaths in Australia 2015 shows that suicide is the leading cause of death for 15-to-24-year-olds. Since children and young people tend not to die from other causes, suicides account for a high percentage of deaths among them.

In 2020:

  • 3,81 Australian young adults ages 18-24 died by suicide.
  • In 2020, 99 child and adolescent suicide deaths will occur, with the majority of deaths among those aged 15-17 (74%).
  • Three-quarters (31%) of all deaths in young people aged 15-17 and 39% of all deaths in those aged 18-24 were caused by suicide vs. about one quarter of all deaths in these age groups in 2010. Deaths by suicide among children ages 14 and younger have a low percentage when compared to the 2 older age groups; in 2020, suicide represented 12% of all deaths in this age group.

The first step to improving mental health and well-being of a young person is to intervene early. The person can be helped through early intervention, improved mental health knowledge, and increased encouragement to seek help. In addition to preventing the short-term detrimental effects of mental health disorders, it might also be possible to safeguard young people from long-term consequences. A young person may continue to face long-lasting dysfunction and disadvantage as an adult if he or she leaves mental health disorders untreated.

The Onsite Youth Mental Health First Aid Program Will:

  • Develop a better understanding of youth mental health problems,
  • Increase understanding and awareness of youth mental health problems,
  • Getting a young person with a mental health problem professional help,
  • Educate the public about the stigma of mental illness among young people.

For anyone looking for onsite youth mental health first aid training we have always been the most reliable choice.

In the Youth Mental Health First Aid Course (onsite YMHFA), adults (18 years or older) support, help, and aid young people (aged 12-18) during their working or living environment.

The objective of this onsite first aid course is to teach adults how to help adolescents struggling with mental health problems. The 14 hours of onsite YMHFA training will cover a variety of topics, such as adolescent development, signs and symptoms of mental health problems, where to receive help when a young person is seeking mental health support, what forms of help and support have been proven to be effective, and how to provide mental health first aid in a crisis situation.

This onsite youth mental health first aid course is particularly suitable for parents, teachers, school staff, coaches, and youth workers.

It is open to any adult who is interested in first aid. This onsite first aid course is not a therapy or support group, rather an educational training course to teach young people, aged between 12 and 18 years, how to render first aid.

There will be 2 days of instruction (and 1 hour 15 minute break each day)

The cost of the onsite first aid course will be determined by the number of attendees. There are discounts for group bookings and multiple dates. Additional travel expenses apply when traveling beyond Brisbane.
